Welcome! My name is Elaine Lipworth, and I am an award-winning writer, broadcaster and certified health coach with more than three decades of experience spanning print, digital, and broadcast media. I was born and raised in Manchester, England, but I'm now based in Los Angeles where I've lived and worked for more than 20 years.

Journalism and writing experience

 

I spent much of my career as a correspondent for the BBC, and I have written for leading publications worldwide, among them the LA Times, Vanity Fair, Marie Claire, The Guardian, The Times, The Telegraph, and Harper’s Bazaar.

Most recently, I was Senior Writer at Thrive Global, Arianna Huffington’s behavior change technology company where I developed strong expertise in science-based health and well-being  content including brain health, nutrition, GLP-1 medications, sleep, and behavior change. I also gained experience as a book collaborator, working on the best-selling books TK and TK. 

Documentary, live events & voice work

In addition to my work for the BBC,  I have reported for a range of other television and radio networks including MSNBC, Sky Movies, E! and EXTRA, and have produced a number of documentaries and have frequently appeared on television. I have created content for several entertainment companies including Twentieth Century Fox, The Walt Disney Co.and Lionsgate.

With a distinctive British voice and decades of broadcasting experience, I regularly host live events, including a monthly webinar for Cure Science, a nonprofit cancer research institute in San Diego. I previously served as the host of Ask Thrive Live, a monthly webcast watched by thousands. I provide voice-over services for audio projects, podcasts, and documentaries, including Thrive sleep stories and resets.

 

Health coaching and teaching

I have an M.A. in Spiritual Psychology from the University Of Santa Monica and a Health Coaching Certification from Thrive Global. I also taught journalism as an adjunct professor at Pepperdine University.

Volunteer work and other interests

I am a member of the Cure Science Advisory board. My connection to CureScience’s mission is personal. My husband, Stephen Beech, was diagnosed with a brain stem tumor in 2018. With my two daughters, I cared for Stephen at home for three and a half years. Stephen was treated by Dr. Santosh Kesari, now Chair of CureScience’s Scientific Advisory Board. Devoted to volunteering and serving his community throughout his life, Stephen was a constant source of kindness and support to all around him. He died in October 2021, and in his memory, I am committed to doing everything I can to support CureScience. I have made it my mission to continue Stephen’s legacy and give back with love.

I am a member of BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) and the MPAA (Motion Picture Association Of America), I have a degree in history from The University of London. I studied post graduate journalism at Cardiff University and have an M.A. in Spiritual Psychology from the University Of Santa Monica. 

 

I live in Santa Monica near my two daughters, Chace and Ava-Rose.
